It's time to examine life from the viewpoint of a participant, not a spectator. This is where we must engage our personal resources, strengths and weaknesses, to accomplish certain goals before time runs out. We must focus in a way that separates us from nonessential things, revealing what's most important to our single goal. Success is obtained one victory at a time. Set your sights on mastering one objective and that singleness of purpose will become your motivation until you embrace your desired victory.
True success is like a motor, driving a finely tuned vehicle toward the finish line of life. Victory is seeing the checkered flag fall as you cross the finish line. Being first is always second thought to reaching your goal of finishing. Tunnel vision allows you to run/strive for perfection without the frustration of the competition around you. They may be reaching for the same thing, but you are only seeing the goal or finish line. Indeed, your place in the winners circle is carved out to fit your motivation. Do you have a cause driving you beyond the competition? If you are only focused on them, you will slow down (down shift) after you have passed them, winning without excelling!
Tunnel vision gives us an opportunity to compete against the only competition that truly matters, yourself! Most great athletes break and set records after they have learned to focus only on the goal. Winning comes through beating the competition. But a champion is one who competes against himself and wins. Your personal victory is obtained when you enter life's purpose focused on the prize, not willing to quit even if you fall.
